The Volunteer Auxiliary program at East Houston Regional Medical Center recently celebrated its 33rd anniversary and boasts a membership of over 40 adult volunteers and 12 junior volunteers during the summer months.

Beyond working in the hospital gift shops, volunteers direct patients, pass reading materials, inform families in the waiting areas, perform clerical duties and visit patients in the hospital. Along with giving time to the hospital, the volunteers use funds generated from gift shop sales for scholarships and donations to charitable organizations.
